Jesus knew that giving up his life meant that people for generations to come could be saved. What a sacrifice. What a gift. I think that the best day for Jesus comes on Easter. The day he rose from the grave and showed himself to his friends. His best day ever is what gives us comfort when we lose a loved one. His best day ever gives us strength when we are going through trials here on Earth. His best day ever gives us life. So what am I going to do with the gift that he freely gave?
I am going to live. I am going to live my life for him everyday. I am going to love those that I am in contact with all the time - even when I don't feel like it. I am going to pray for those who don't know Jesus... that one day, they might celebrate with me their best day ever.
Yesterday's chapel was a blessing in so many ways. What an honor and privilege to worship with our HCS community. To see arms lifted high, to hear voices surrounding me in song, to feel the presence of God in that holy place. Seeing so many children bringing slips of paper to the water to show how Jesus takes away our sins is certainly humbling. It also gives me hope. I know that these children are loved by God. It won't be long before they will be the ones up front leading in worship. They will be the teachers, preachers, and workers in the world. I am thankful that I have the opportunity to touch the lives of just a few of these children. I am thankful for the ways that they have touched my life and encouraged me to grow and to love. Everyday that I have to live my life for Jesus is my best day ever.
